Ground Handling

There are different types of ground assistance depending on their nature:

  • Billing
  • Shipment
  • Ramp
  • Maintenance
  • Cleaning
  • Catering
  • Fuel

It is basically divided into the following areas:

Cabin service

It includes all services aimed at providing comfort to the passengers in the cabin of the airplane as the provision of newspapers, blankets and other comforts as well as the cleaning of the cabin itself.

Catering service

It is the food and beverage service for passengers and crew during the trip.

Ramp service

It includes all services in the platform of operations to the aircraft (guide to position of parking, trailer, drainage of sinks, etc.) and also the processes necessary to carry out the loading and unloading of the mail, luggage and other goods to be transported, the equipment used for all these processes is called the generic GSE.

Fuel load

It is the service of refueling of fuel, in some airports the service is granted to an exclusive supplier and in other occasions the same airline is provided or it contracts a supplier of the same one.

Maintenance and engineering services

It includes all necessary processes to ensure and maintain the operation of the aircraft by its nature is one of the most delicate processes in the handling of an aircraft.

Field Operations Service

It is the agency that coordinates all previous services with the rest of the airline's operation at the airport, including the dispatch service and also coordinates communication with the authorities and air traffic control services.
